Ferrari SF90 Stradale

super sports car (2019)

The Ferrari SF90 Stradale is a super sports car with hybrid power produced since 2019.

Inspired by the Formula 1 car of the same name, it is the first series plug-in hybrid from the Maranello company. This solution allows it to be the most powerful road Ferrari in history. In November 2020, the version called SF90 Spider was presented.

The SF90 Stradale is the advanced expression of the technology of the house of the prancing horse, the demonstration of how the experiences acquired in competitions find application in the production of a series car with the close link that has always existed between the world of racing and road cars.

The lines of the SF90 Stradale, created in the Ferrari Style Center directed by Flavio Manzoni and the particularity of the hybrid system lead to the rethinking of the proportions of the front, central and rear volumes, characteristic of the mid-engine sports sedans of the last twenty years of Ferrari.

The front headlights are innovative, no longer with the L-shaped modules used previously but consisting of a thin slit shape integrated with the brake air intakes forming a C-shaped theme.
The lights adopt LED technology for the first time which improves visibility in all driving conditions through light beam control.
The cockpit, in a forward position, resembles an aeronautical cockpit. The forward unbalancing effect is underlined by the geometry of the "two flying buttresses" at the rear, in the color of the bodywork, into which it is inserted.

The curvature of the windshield, the tapering of the pillars and a wider track contribute to improving the proportions and making the volume more elegant.
At the rear, the lights have a quadrangular light ring shape, which creates a horizontal perception of the light, which visually lowers the rear. In the lower part there is a trimaran-shaped diffuser which contains the high exhaust pipes, derived from the optimization of the exhaust line.

The rear load is balanced at the front of the car by a complex system of vortex generators.
The front frame, raised compared to the plane of the central frame, allows a greater air flow towards the vortex generators, increasing their effect.
The two diffusers in front of the front wheels and the shape of the bonnet help to generate a load at the front axle.
The bonnet of the SF90 Stradale is very low to improve the interaction between the flows above and below the body and minimize resistance to progress.

The SF90 Stradale is equipped with HMI (Human Machine Interface) with digital technology. The central group consists of a single 16-inch high-definition digital screen, curved towards the driver to facilitate reading and create an effect similar to the enveloping cockpit of Formula 1 single-seaters.
The basic screen is dominated by a digital reinterpretation of the traditional large circular tachometer, framed by the battery charge indicator.
On the sides of the rev counter are the navigation screen and the audio controls screen. The graphics have been designed to create 3D effects. A head-up display allows various information to be projected onto the windshield, in the driver's field of vision.
The traditional controls of the manettino for driving, the control of the headlights, the windshield wiper and the direction indicators remain on the steering wheel.

The new integrated touch controls allow you to control various aspects of the car without taking your hands off the steering wheel.
A small "touchpad" on the right spoke allows you to navigate between the central console screens, while on the left spoke there are controls for voice commands and cruise control.
At the bottom left there are the four buttons of the eManettino with which to select the different powertrain management modes.

Ferrari SF90 Stradale is equipped with a 90° twin-turbo V8 thermal engine that delivers 780 HP at 7500 rpm and 800 N·m of torque at 6000 rpm, the highest power ever achieved by a Ferrari eight-cylinder.
The car is equipped with three electric motors powered by a lithium ion battery which guarantee a range of 25 km in electric mode.
